Make a cd image of the original disc you own, mount the cd image in daemon tools, set SSF to use the virtual drive. The Pal and Japanese versions should work fine. IIRC the usa version uses netlink, which makes SSF lock up after booting the game, but if this was the case you wouldnt get as far as the title screen. But its been a while since I checked the usa version, I may be thinking of a different game.

edit: just tested the japanese version and it works perfect, both story mode and battle mode.
