I have exactly the same problem like yongwh1986 and cahsol.
if I select the mass:/ device my USB Stick blinks 3-4 times and then the Programm freezes. It is a older 256MB Verbatim USB 2.0 Stick. I tried to completly reformat it via diskpart under Vista to erase everything like old Bootloaders from DOS and so on (my stick was bootable) but nothing works. I used Fat32 and Fat that also didn't help. Everytime the same problem

I think I solved the problem. I tried 3 different USB Sticks my first with 256 MB and one fast with 4 GB and the third is a really cheap 4 GB Stick. It's read and write speed is horrible but this damm thing works. I think that Sticks with a to high read and write speed fail on the PS2 because the Controller couldn't handle that I/O Traffic. So just search a cheap slow Stick and the dump will work
