FF1: played it, but have not beaten it because I never felt compelled to. Plot was dry and battle system archaic.
FF2,3: Have not played.
FF4: I think this was my first FF. Cool characters, excellent music, and intricate plot. This game may not have written the book (DQ did), but it certainly raised the bar for future RPGs IMO.
FF5: Got fairly far (Gilgamesh Battle on the Bridge? I believe) but never finished it. This was ages ago and I think my hard drive failed and I never got the save state file back. So I said **** it and didn't pick it up since. I didn't really get into the job system.
FF6: THE greatest set of characters of all time. Cyan's family actually got killed, Celes almost committed suicide, Kefka actually destroyed the world, etc. The battle system is rudimentary but the Esper system laid the groundwork for FF7's Materia system. Also my favorite soundtrack. Decisive Battle, Fierce Battle, Dancing Mad, Locke, Returners, Techno de Chocobo, map theme, hell I'll just say every track kicks ass.
FF7: What can I say? This game deserves every bit of praise it gets. Great characters, great setting, great plot, graphics, music, etc. The ending was a bit silly IMO and some of that wasn't entirely the translation's fault. I want them to remake FF7 just to do the ending justice.
FF8: Hated it. Junctioning, GFs, "love" story through bland and disinterested dialogue, just didn't add up for me. Things got interesting around the floating city but the lack of a concrete threat or villain subtracted IMO.
FF9: Liked it, but not enough to play twice. Battle theme sucked hardcore.
FF10: Perhaps my personal favorite. I enjoyed it all the way through, and took the liberty of doing all the sidequests and overleveling for a good 200 hrs. Really liked the story and atmosphere. I thought Tidus was cool unlike most reviews I read ?
FF11: skipped it. Not a fan of MMOs.
FF12: I'm preparing my thoughts for another post because I abhor this game, and have not touched it in a year due to lack of motivation.

FFT: skipped it. chesslike strategy games bore me to death.
FF Adventure series: played a bit of one (can't remember which) but never beat it.
