To the one who said someone else's opinion is biased, everyone's is.
As for reviews, they aren't what they used to be. Every cover title in a magazine or a big name being reviewed on a site seem to get high reviews, or have a much higher chance of getting such. Getting a perfect 10 really isn't something special anymore. I remember almost eight years ago when Final Fantasy IX became one of the rare games to get a 9.75/10 in Game Informer, it actually meant something. The standards also seem a bit lower, in way of "giving leeway" to games, but a perfect 10, in my opinion, should be either very hard or impossible to get, as no game is perfect.
Speaking of bad things in recent Final Fantasy games, about the summons, I hated when I was playing Final Fantasy X-2, and was getting through it, and realized my suspicions of no (usable) summons were true. I died a little inside then. In my opinion, that (the lack of summons), all of the characters having no individuality, and lack of exploration (I'm talking a world map here, not the point A to point B crap from Final Fantasy X, but the almost completely non-linear nature of Final Fantasy X-2 was even worse) are the biggest gripes from me about the series, but all I see anyone complaining about is random battles, which isn't a make or break deal to me (I heavily prefer random battles though; it's not about which was used due to lack of hardware, but rather which is more fun [as for being more realistic, I could care less for since Final Fantasy is supposed to be
fantasy]).

Pretty interesting stuff, but the girl from Kingdom Hearts had no place being in it.
