Many, many reasons. The person could have suicidial ideations in the first place, which leaves them in a severely depressed state at times.

Fair point, but that is thinking optimistically. Thinking realistically however, makes that very unlikely. People are known to hide things, lie about things, and I quite agree to some people in this thread that human society in general is messed up. But that is the "emo" way to look at it, and not a proper solution. The proper solution is to escape while you still can, or grin and bear it.

...In some people's minds, that hardly crosses them. They are too overwhelmed in issues that others cannot possibly comprehend on a personal level. So that doesn't phase them.
