You are right but it is also meant to be enjoyed. And I wasn't expecting voice overs, however, I would have appreciated more character depth for a title that holds final fantasy in this generation.
Being able to connect with a game or whatever is a big plus. And for me if I can't do that then well that's a minus in a particular area (I should add this mostly applies to rpgs). Also there were some bosses that you just had connect Quicknings or else your screwed. I leveled up a lot but that didn't help as much compared to other games.
In it's own right I admire that it tried something new, and cinematics were great, but gameplay wise I didn't feel any excitement in battles. When I defeated a tough boss It was more off, thank God now I can move forward, than YEAH! The reason I kept on?
Honestly speaking, I wanted to see if the Nu Mou from FFTA were still alive, and it didn't help that my friend told me they were before I reached them.
