It turns out that the THP library, one of the common video libraries for GC used especially by Nintendo, actually bypasses the DSP and writes the audio straight to the output FIFO. So now that I emulated that, in my quest to get audio in homebrew programs working, well ... it just so happened that many videos in various games got sound. Did not expect that
