Nvidia has already come straight out in various interviews and articles around the web that they are more than happy to support PhysX on any video card. The PhysX api is simply a programming tool and doesn't contain a set specs per hardware because it's basically using ALU's to do math calculations for physics. It's also an open APi which could mean that an IHV can program extensions that better suits their specific hardware.

It increases FPS when comparing the same physics effects on hardware without PhysX. More physics effects will normally bring down performance, but with a physX enabled GPU, it's far less than without it doing the same effects because then it's the CPU computing all the math without the GPU assist.

CUDA I can understand, Ive seen it in action, but Physx only performed like 3fps better (with a separate card) in UT3.
