I'm having the same problem with the same emulator. I assumed it was because of the graphic settings (the suggested settings go back two years and might not be the best choice with newer hardware), but it turns out it happens with different settings and, hell, different plugins too.
Stupid Playstation chose a bad time to die. I miss VGS.
