Hey, does any1 know why Mr. Martin is developing no$gba?
he dsnt seem to be intrested in gaming.

im a noob & i hav a few noobish questions so pls bear with me,

What is the diffrnce b/w firmware & bios?

why r there 2 bioses?

Is there any way to stop the system frm shutting down aftr closing pictochat, download play & setings?

Can we use the gba port in nds in nosgba?
Martin is a very skilled programmer that has made various other awesome emus. Obviously developing a GBA/DS emu is just natural progression. He simply seems to have a love for emulating various systems.

Well I am not exactly sure. Let's see, your PC also has a BIOS you know that right? A soon as your startup your PC, your BIOS loads (you know when the PC says press DEL to enter Setup or something like that. Then it goes through POST (where it detects all the hardware that has been set up in the BIOS) and then Windows starts booting up and finally you are in Windows and the startup is just busy loading various programs which you have set to load at startup. So to break it down let's sorta say that the BIOS controls the hardware side of things, whilst firmware is more like an OS and controls the software side of things.

The two bioses are not quite the same, one is for Arm7 and the other is for Arm9...what that means exactly I am not 100% sure, but it's linked to CPU routines in some way.

No, it's meant to turn off and restart when making changes to the firmware, the real hardware works like that. However seeing as no$gba is not the real hardware it simply closes and nothing happens. There is nothing you can do about this. If you want any changes made in the firmware then make them on your DS before redumping it to your PC. Or to change 1 or 2 of the basic options google for a firmware editor.

I have already made it very very clear in countless other topics before that there is no linking of any sort with regards to DS games, this means not DS to DS WiFi link, no DS to Nintendo WiFi link, no DS to GBA link (or inserting a GBA catridge into the GBA slot of a DS to get more pokemon for instance), no nothing if it means linking to a DS game.
