Here's a piece of work being done, it's a car that produces air instead of harmful exhaust.. and even runs on compressed air. Granite it's still in it's infancy, it's just one example of how cars are becoming safer for the enviroment.

And as far as land goes... I can't find the article off hand, but there is a movement going on about making land mass out of garbage, it's a lengthy process but it's possible. As soon as I find the article I'll post it for your viewing pleasure. Also, the Japanese ( who live in VERY limited space ) have also been working in making more land available for them to live on.
And I'm not ignorant. I just don't give a flying F about starving people in third world countries. That's their problem. ^^
And on another note, human beings have a way of always finding some way to "adapt". It's what humans are best at. Another thing, war kills a lot of people. Just in the vietnam war alone some 3 mill+ people were killed. Look at this "War on Terrorism" America is currently in. You think it's going to end anytime soon? No. It's going to drag out for as long as it possibly can. Killing as many people as possible. All to fuel Arms dealers and the Federal Reserves pockets.
One other thing, do you really think that this world is going to just stop being capitalist? No. I'm ignorant? No, you're just behind the times. While your anit-capitalist ideals are noble and I applaud you for holding onto them so strongly. Your ideals are doomed to failure. Big business and the rich aren't going to just cast aside their income, money, or possessions. Keep preaching your anit-capitalist ways, for soon they will fall upon deaf ears.
