You must mean the textures, if so yeah they aren't high resolution. Its hard to tell if they are using bloom and post processing to hide them or if its done on purpose. Technically, the textures don't look to bad in conjunction with the bloom and post processing. But if you take those effects away, then it becomes apparent that the textures aren't high resolution.
Its a good game imo, I don't have any problems controlling it. I can't even see where the complaints about the controls are coming from.
