maybe the major game companies will stop developing for the PC, but there will always be people making PC games.

The new trend is making games for the 360 arcade (they're getting more and more support from MS) or now, the Wii-ware, who is affordable/easy/has nice support too.
But they still definitely make those games for the PC too usually.
