Really? Because the MGS4 clip I took from my PS3 was at 6MB/sec in total bitrate (4.5MB/sec for video and 1.5MB/sec for audio), and only CoreAVC (1.7.0) can properly play the clip. Any other application just returned slide shows. Audio codec was FFDShow AAC.
And I thought you'd have to re-encode most Blu-Ray contents to get 720p?
By the way, 1080p was really playing at 22.4fps versus the normal 24fps as shown up there.
