Which is my point exactly. If you have both a PS2 and a decent computer, why spend hundreds/thousands to buy a new computer to do what the PS2 already does for you, *especially* when a new computer isn't going to play all your games.
Most people don't seem to realize that even today's computers will likely never run all ps2 games at full speed. If you hold back that urge to upgrade now, and save your money until we see hardware that can handle PCSX2 then you'll be able to afford it before those fools that bought too early for no reason.
As I said though, if he has a separate reason to upgrade (he can't play new PC games for example), then it makes sense. Just don't do it for PCSX2 alone.
