If you ask some Chinese guys... you can get 10 for $10... seriously...
First tip: always ask China or Taiwan or Malaysia whenever it comes to electronic stuffs, especially cables.
Anyway, there are quite a few LCD panel manufacturers. What's so amazing is that... quite a few HDTV models from Sony and Samsung might as well have been manufactured directly from Samsung. Same goes for some Mitsubishi and Toshiba ones (these are mostly manufactured by Toshiba). Panasonic and other brands seem to use panels from some other manufacturers, though. Keep digging deeper, and you'll start hearing names you probably wouldn't have even thought of yourself.
