With a core2 at this speed and a good gfx card, yeah, you must use a limiter, but there are still some places where you have about 50fps (on an ntsc version), even at 3ghz. Though it's true that it's only occasionnal slowdowns. What not true is that it's enough for most games, there are many many ones that need much more power. FFX games are just better optimized since they're the most tested/played
