i agree that they're not totally balanced in the MarioKart server, but i don't think they're balanced at all in the real game either...
The classes ARE balanced in the real game, they're just not balanced in a way that they can kick every classes asses.

Which is a point that you seem to be miss since you brought it in various threads .

Each class is meant to own another/some classes, to be equal to other classes, and to be weak again a few other classes.
Example : The Heavy being weak against Sniper, the Engi being weak against Demoman.

The point is that this IS the balancing.
They didn't make every class being equal to every other classes. Instead they decide to give strengths and weaknesses to every classes. That's the whole point, that's the balancing. Every class has is the rock to a scissor, and is the rock to a paper.

That's why it's named TEAM fortress too, because your weakness means you're better off playing as a team if you want to increase your chances of survival.
Learning your weaknesses and how to avoid it on your own is part of the learning process too.
Example if you play a heavy : make sure not to be in a open area where you can easily be sniped, if you're a soldier : make sure to not end up with one rocket in your launcher and then jump in a open area, you're deadmeat since you'll have to reload VERY soon making you hella vulnerable.

That server removes the weakness of some class, while increase the weakness of others, throwing the whole balancing out of the window.
You got a few classes who suddenly become god-like, and some classes who become completely obsolete and utterly weak.

The game is, be default, balanced. Not balance in a "everybody is on even ground", but balanced in a "the world goes round and round" kind of way. Everybody has weaknesses and strengths, when you add them all up, everybody has up and down who complete each other, and make it balanced. That's the whole point of it .
