by this i mean that a video card with 1GB of 512Bit memory running at 2.0GHZ, will run much faster then 1GB of 256Bit memory running at 2.0Ghz,
But even then that is limited by the Memory controller in use. current video cards tend to use Quad channel controllers, (i believe ati's ringbus is 8-way)
So a 512mb Nvidia card would be 128x4, while an ati 512mb card would be 64x8.
correct me if im wrong.
obviously addressing 64mb chunks via 8 paths would be quicker then addressing 128mbs via 4

in theory that makes sense,
but like MrPink says, its best to wait till the benchmarks.
sometimes with hardware, you don't get the benefits you'd expect.
