Funnily, the eset AV and suite's windows service randomly drinks all the cpu timing (over 90%, in more than one comp, with different environments. single cores, notably.), locking the workstation till it's killed. 2.7 was very nice as an AV, but the service horribly negates the low ressource usage it was known for in the past. I can't speak for corporate editions, but as is the case with Norton's offering, I suppose it would indeed be less troublesome
