Vista improved my FPS in some games by as much as 15-20FPS. It varies, no set amount.
8600 GTS is ok for most games, at low resolutions. 2.5GHZ is st ill low for some games. Considering the list of games he wants to play, his specs just don't meet them.
HE didn't ask if he could play any of those games, so it's really poor examples.
