Method B = Sharp Aquos HDTV with PS3 and HDMI (Smooth settings applied, Upscaler set to Double Scale, output set to 1080i...We allow the television to convert the interlaced output to progressive).

The picture difference huge. The upscaled PS3 versions looked so much better. To make sure we were not miss judging we loaded VF4 into our PS2. Allowed it to load a fight into memory. We then took the disc out and loaded it into the PS3. Selected the same fight characters, and compared the models side by side.
well, you are comparing two different tv's here. not only that, but you are comparing s-video to hdmi. its not a fair or accurate test at all. comapring component VS component or hdmi on the same tv is much fairer and thats where the ps3 will show any weaknesses in ps2 emulation.
