Yup. I can actually confirm this. I just installed Vista SP1 now and it DX10 mode works fine with crossfire enabled and like you I get performance boosts (especially noticable in Dragon Quest VIII as the sound gets choppy/skippy less frequent (but still not at full speed just yet). Now the big question is why is this so? What does SP1 do or fix in that regard? It's things like this that make emulators so darn hard to debug? I mean look at the list of questions that could come up?

Is it the emulator?
Is it the plugin?
Is it the drivers?
Is it the current version (or revision) of DirectX?
Is it the operating system?

and it's not always possible to tell easily (like in this case).
