They are supposed to be at the front when new things come, the same should be true for 10.1.
After all, it won't increase the price that bad to add 10.1 + if they don't add it, it won't help make 10.1 more widely used. It's not like Ati had any problem adding 10.1, nor should it be
that hard.
It's just stupid to wait for it to be widely used if they don't help it being used, nay?
My guess would be that they are simply waiting to get people to buy new shiny powerful DX10 cards so they can wait and use dx10.1 as a way to make them upgrade later on. Makes sense, make powerful DX10 card, wait for DX10.1 to be used, release new cards with dx10.1 to make people who don't need to upgrade actually buy a new card, for dx10.1.
I can't really see any other reason, since adding dx10.1 support ain't a pita. Adding 10.1 just makes sense. It helps make it more widely used since more cards support it + it's being nice with your customers, since they won't have to buy a new card to get access to dx10.1.
It's not like a 9800gx2 couldn't support dx10.1...
(Hell, if Nvidia is ready to buy Physx and work on adding it to their cards... They can work on DX10.1)
