No, .mdf/.mds and .ccd/.img/.sub are better than .bin/.cue for multi-track, but .bin/.cue is usually Ok if there are no subcode issues, and is certainly better than .iso.

However, converting from one image format to another doesn't usually work, because the advantages of the various formats are due to the extra information about the image they include. So, once you've converted to an image that doesn't include that information, it's gone - you can't get it back by converting to a format that would have included that information if it had been ripped directly.

As jonc2006 suggests, try playing directly from the original CD or, if you want to play from images, rip directly from the CD.
