@Shendo: Vista uses ClearType by default for everything. I don't know if you've ever tried it in IE7 on XP (mainly to see the difference instantly between it being on and off), but I always keep ClearType off in IE7 because everything looks a little blurred on my LCD (never tried CRT, but I assume it'd be the same). Funny enough, it has a similar blur to when I switch between 60 Hz and 75 Hz without adjusting the monitor to compensate afterwards. My mom has a 22" widescreen LCD on her Windows MC2005 machine, and the first thing I commented on (and tried to fix) was everything looking like it had ClearType on (that damn blur). I don't know if MC2005 has ClearType enabled in the system by default too, but it bugged me beyond belief.
As for refresh rates... I don't really *see* a difference on the monitor between 60 Hz and 75 Hz on this LCD. I do seem to get less headaches when on the computer for hours though. Could be a placebo effect though, since it was by patrickp's recommendation that I changed the refresh rate, after he explained that 60 Hz gives him headaches too.
