Well, a lot of people who use emulators probably don't want to have to mount an image every time they play a game, Samor, when it's so much easier to play it directly. You might as well play from CDs so as to get the perfect CD structure!

And it's even easier when you're using Ultima's Frontend. A couple of clicks and you're playing - no inserting CDs, no mounting images...

I agree, if there are no subcode issues, a .bin/.cue should work as well as a .ccd/.img/.sub or .mdf/.mds. But it doesn't - go figure...

Thinking back, the difference was actually more noticeable in ePSXe, because it would always have points in a game where it would slow down etc, and this was always a little better with an .img image than with a .bin.
