And AFAIK the freeware version of Alcohol 52% (there's a paid for version, as well) can be used to rip .ccd/.img/.sub images as well as .mdf/.mds ones.
And the bummer is that there are no applications that will run in Linux that will rip to these formats. Ripping is the only reason I still keep a Windows installation running...
