The Celeron 440 has 200MHz lower in clock speed, even... so needless to say, clock-to-clock, that single core processor would beat the Athlon64 3500+ quite easily. I don't know about the 3700+, but mind you, it's quite easy to reach 3GHz with this processor using air cooling methods... since it's still a Conroe.
