Actually, it the other way around... LCD cost more, especially the ones that does 1080p. Most or all LCD have a native 1366/1360 x 768 resolution if you connect it to your pc, on the hand plasma only does 1024 x 768
And LCD quality look better on pc than plasma, but that just me
I'd go for lcd if I were you, if you can try get an 1080p lcd because they the quality are amazing! You get what you pay.
