With EERec enabled, it kept hanging during the SCE Presents screen. So I had to disable it.

Getting to the main menu required some patience (several minutes for me). When it had a chance at working, the SCE Presents screen faded in to its full brightness and had some flashing purple and it faded away. I think hammering on the circle button after this point might be safe, and the quickest way to get to the main menu -- I waited a bit though. Then there was some jittery sound with 16 blocks at a time slowly being read from the disc. Then some corrupted and ghosted white ball looking thing floated around a bit and I skipped it with the circle button.

Then the main menu appeared, and it kept crashing shortly after I chose the first option. If you're lucky, you might get a chance to see the Arc de Triomphe for a moment.
