Nobody says you have to believe this list Why don't you ask the guys at Beyond3D about it? Obviously they didn't count the pixels just in order to give some fuel to both sides' fanboys True enough that AA makes it much more difficult and MSAA even impossible but still, since Bungie confirmed the res for Halo 3...

I read over ten threads that are at least 20 pages long... and they are just all "speculating."

They did not even count the pixels in some games. And Halo 3... meh... I wouldn't touch that subject even with a 10-feet pole. It's dead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Heavenly Sword outputs only up to 720p, how did you see it in 1080p? Unless I'm reading something wrong now... Or maybe US version is 1080p But it does look indeed fabulous, though ppl complain about the framerate problems, which is weird as I noticed none, just some v-sync problems during FMVs and they aren't even real time (only some of them are, involving mostly Kai and they play smoothly).

It is 720p. But originally, it would be in 1080p.

What is interesting... is its how developers decided to let the game go up to 720p instead, as the content was filling up the Blu-Ray disc... and having textures for the game at 1080p would be... ehh... not practical. Especially when it's a single-layer disc.

They decided to go with 720p... and not go the road that Rainbow Six Vegas, or Ninja Gaiden Sigma took.
And by the way, Lair would show you that 1080p is possible with MSAA 2x. The game itself is not that big in size even... maybe because they don't have that many dragons and soldiers and landscapes in the game.

In Heavenly Sword, different levels have different kinds of textures and a lot of other junks. Guess the size of the disc matters after all.
P.S.: I'm still dying to see MGS4 at 1080p... on a dual-layer disc.
