Of course there will be people who prefer a slightly more blurred view. But when it comes to textures the winner is the card which can provide the most crisp textures that will stay sharp at every angle and as far in the distance as possible, without showing any shimmering or other artifacts.
I don't think it's subjective if you look at things from a slight technical pov
The one IQ comparison I have seen clearly showed that I would personally pick an nVidia card over ATi right now.
