Nvidia is a step ahead of ATI. Intels a huge step ahead of AMD. And since AMD owns ATI, they fund all their resources. And AMDs lost billions by purchasing ATI and by having their share of the CPU market ravaged by Intel. Both Intel and Nvidia have a huge amount of money now to put towards R&R. Got to spend money to make money, and right now, AMD/ATI are on the verge of losing a lot more.

I'd hate to say, but I think ure right. AMD and ATI are starting to lose it. Thats y I like to support AMD/ATI and purchase their products more than intel/nvidia. All the last rigs I've built for friends have been AMD/ATI combo. Can u imagine if AMD/ATI went out of buisness? I mean, we'd be stuck at the same level of compuing technology for years on. I'm just hoping that doesn't happen. Also, ATi isn't really a step behind. Nvidia is a step ahead in speed, but ATi is the best in terms of image quality, which IMO, makes em more preferable. However, ATI rushed to release their new R600 and ended up with a card less decent then expected. My saying is "Take 2 steps at a time and u have a higher chance of tumbling. Take it a step at a time and u will be rewarded." Ati decided to take it 2 steps at a time i guess... I just hope they can pull it up. Besides its OK if they are late in releasing the HD 2900XTX cause, DX10 hasn't even become popular yet. I'd bet if they were to take their time into making an awesome card, they would do well again.
