Bad idea regardless. The games were programmed for 60hz. Using a higher rate simply means the emulator has to fill in duplicate frames, which causes the motion to be less "fluid". More noticeable on 2D games however. Less noticeable on games which don't maintain a completely solid 60fps anyway.
The best option would be to run the games in a low enough resolution to which your nVidia card (assuming you have one) and monitor allow you to enable "Double Scan Mode". This elimates flicker, without using a frequency which isn't visibly in sync with the game.
