this thread, from the official forums, as that would be about the only place you could find an answer for that (seeing as how pSX Author is the only one who knows enough about the Linux port to be able to properly address that question). The first post on the page also lists the requirements that the WIP had (which are still mostly true I believe), and reading through the thread may help answer your question.
