Could be the density of the RAM chips or some other weird property of the memory. Checked for BIOS updates? As for my sticks, they say 2.6v as well, but I have to give them 2.8 or more to do 2-3-2-11 @ PC3200 speeds. Mine have Winbond CH-5 chips though, so they can tolerate way more than 3 volts . Yours probably have something else, like Samsung UCCC, Infineon CE-6, or some weird Micron chip because of the higher RAM amount.
