Maybe go and ask this question on the official forums of PSX emulator at
http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/ because the PSX author himself will answer your question there.
It's strange because in the PSX compatibility list it says the game has "minor sound and graphical glitches" but nothing about your problem.
